Subject: Arizona Rockabilly... web and more... Somebody has to sing the praises of the Arizona Rockabilly scene... I can't find any kind of directory information like this, so I pieced this together from what I already know and what I'm into. Add it to your links or publications as you see fit. Hit me back if you have more info or a good central source to submit to. Just trying to get the information out. It'sall about the music... and maybe the booze... and the cars... ok ok.. it'sabout the girls. (ha!)Some spots across the country have a distinct mix of flavor for their rockabilly.... Arizona's roots are in punk and southwestern hillbilly...which has left us with a serious rock stomp beat and usually a touch of country twang, with an evil psycho-billy brother lurking out in the darkness... we love our rat rods and tats.... this isn't the bop swing scene here... Drink hard, drive fast and don't you dare polish your shoes. Lots of great national (and international) acts come through AZ... Keeping track of when or where is the trick. Most sites below have websites and itseems everyone is jumping on the Myspace bandwagon allowing them to post show calendars and bulletins for notices to their "friends".
